• Meeting point: AstroLaPalma office, Travesía de los Cancajos, 2, local B1 (Hotel Las Olas building, NOT the hotel reception), 38711 Breña Baja. Please follow the location link provided on your ticket.
• Meeting time: As indicated on your ticket. Starting times vary throughout the year according to sunset. Please arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled departure time.
• Observing location: Usually one of La Palma’s astronomical viewpoints, generally in the mountains. We select the location according to the weather and astronomical observing conditions each night. When necessary, we may use an alternative dark and safe observing site.
• TRANSPORT: tickets with or without transport.Without transport (standard option):
  • You will need your own car, a rental car or a taxi to travel from your accommodation to our office in Los Cancajos and then continue to the observing location.
  • All vehicles must follow the guide’s car from the meeting point, as mobile phone coverage in many mountain areas is very limited or unavailable.
  • A 4×4 vehicle is NOT required.
  • Drivers are responsible for their vehicle’s roadworthiness, documentation, insurance and fuel, as well as following staff instructions and staying with the group.

  With transport (very limited availability):

  • Available exclusively for adults and only when this option has been specifically selected and confirmed during booking.
  • Includes return transport from our office in Los Cancajos to the observing location and back to the same meeting point.
  • We do not provide hotel or accommodation pick-ups.
  • For families with children, we recommend using your own vehicle for greater comfort and flexibility during the journey.

  AstroLaPalma is not responsible for incidents involving private vehicles, including breakdowns, road accidents, insufficient fuel, delays, losing the group or failure to follow instructions, where such incidents are not attributable to our company.

• Groups: Please contact us in advance to enquire about transport arrangements. Minimum group sizes may apply.

• Astronomical observation: approximately 2 hours.
• Total duration, including transfers: approximately 3.5–4 hours.

• Adults without transport (aged 12 and over): €35.
• Children aged 4–11: €25. Transport not included.
• Adults with transport: €55. Very limited availability.

Please check your ticket option and the number of participants carefully before confirming your booking.

• Warm clothing is essential: closed-toe shoes, long trousers, a jumper or sweater and a warm jacket or coat, even in summer. Mountain temperatures are considerably lower than those on the coast. In summer, temperatures may range from 12 to 15°C, while in winter they may be between 2 and 6°C.
• Weather conditions: This activity is weather-dependent. Changes or cancellations may occur, even at short notice.
• Moon phase: Around the Full Moon, the sky is brighter, making the Milky Way and fainter celestial objects more difficult to observe. Check the Moon phase before booking, or feel free to ask us for advice.
• Mountain roads and motion sickness: Mountain roads have many bends and winding sections. If you are prone to motion sickness, please take the necessary precautions. If you have booked transport in our vehicle, please bear in mind that this is a shared transfer, and we cannot arrange early return journeys due to individual cases of motion sickness.

• Astronomical observation using shared amateur telescopes, not individual telescopes.
• Specialised, Starlight-certified guides providing engaging astronomical explanations suitable for all audiences.
• Guided orientation and identification of constellations and other objects in the night sky.
• One complimentary digital souvenir photograph, when conditions allow, sent by email after processing.
• Return transport from our office, only for tickets with confirmed transport included.

The type of photograph depends on the season, Moon phase and observing conditions. The same type of image cannot always be guaranteed. If you would like a professional night photography session, please contact us in advance for prices.

• Ticket validity: Each ticket is valid only for the name, date, time and ticket option stated in the booking confirmation.
• Transport: Transport is included only if a ticket with transport has been specifically purchased and confirmed.
• Punctuality: Please arrive at least 15 minutes before departure. Unless unforeseen circumstances arise, the tour departs on time. If you arrive late and miss the departure, you will not be able to join the activity and no refund will be provided.
• Meeting point: All participants must meet at our office in Los Cancajos. Meeting directly at the astronomical viewpoint is not permitted due to organisational requirements, darkness, limited or unavailable mobile phone coverage and possible last-minute changes of observing location.
• Weather-related changes: The activity is subject to weather conditions. We may change the date, time or observing location when necessary. Any changes will be communicated using the telephone number provided during booking, usually via WhatsApp.
• Weather-related cancellations: Tours may be cancelled due to cloud cover, wind, high humidity or other conditions that prevent suitable astronomical observation. If AstroLaPalma cancels the activity for weather-related reasons, we will first offer to reschedule your tour to another available date. If rescheduling is not possible, we will provide a full refund. Cancellations may occur at the last minute due to unexpected changes in weather conditions.
• Customer cancellations: You may cancel up to 24 hours before the scheduled start of the activity, subject to a 20% administration fee deducted from the ticket price. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the activity are non-refundable. All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to info@lapalmastars.com. Refunds will be processed within 7 days.
• Communications: Customers are responsible for providing a correct, working telephone number and checking messages relating to their booking. AstroLaPalma is not responsible for missed notifications caused by lack of connectivity, incorrect contact details, switched-off phones or unread messages when these circumstances are beyond our control. Our office is closed during afternoons/evenings, weekends and public holidays.
• No-shows: Failure to attend for reasons beyond AstroLaPalma’s control does not entitle customers to a refund or rescheduling outside the applicable booking conditions. This includes delayed or cancelled flights or other transport, illness, planning errors, adverse weather during travel, Moon phases, vehicle breakdowns, accidents or other circumstances beyond our control.
• Private vehicles: Participants without booked transport must arrange their own car, rental vehicle or taxi for the journey. Drivers must ensure that their vehicle has the required documentation, insurance and sufficient fuel (we recommend at least one-third of a tank), follow the guide’s vehicle and comply with staff instructions. AstroLaPalma is not responsible for breakdowns, accidents, delays, insufficient fuel or losing the group when these circumstances are not attributable to our company.
• Roque de los Muchachos Observatory: Our night-time astronomy tours DO NOT take place at the Roque de los Muchachos Observatory, which is not open to the public at night. For daytime visits, please see our guided Observatory tours.
• Duplicate bookings: Every confirmed booking reserves places that cannot be offered to other customers. If you accidentally make a duplicate booking, please contact us immediately. Our standard cancellation conditions apply. If the duplicate booking is not cancelled within the applicable deadline and the activity takes place as scheduled, unused places will not be refunded, except where required by law.
• Incorrect booking details: Customers are responsible for checking the activity, date, number of participants, transport option and contact details. Any errors must be reported as soon as possible. AstroLaPalma is not responsible for problems caused by incorrect information provided by the customer, unless the error is attributable to our company. Changes, cancellations and refunds remain subject to our booking conditions, including when notifications are not received because incorrect contact details were supplied.
• Transport seats: Transport availability is limited and seats must be booked in advance. Only the number of confirmed transport seats is guaranteed. If transport is booked for fewer people than required, or additional seats are requested later, availability cannot be guaranteed. The unavailability of additional transport seats does not, in itself, entitle customers to free cancellation or a refund outside the established booking conditions.
