The mountain roads in La Palma are fully paved and are used every day by residents, visitors and those travelling to the Roque de los Muchachos Observatory.
As with any mountain road, we recommend driving carefully, especially at night. However, they do not present any unusual difficulty for drivers who are accustomed to normal roads.
Our guides know these routes extremely well and, whenever necessary, will lead the way from the meeting point to the observing location.
